We recently purchased several KANE455 Kits to replace our existing 250 and 400 units. Having always had good service from Kane and enjoying the ease of use which the rotary controller on the units offers, we were already sold on the operation of the new 455. After testing a couple of other gas analysers from different manufacturers they all used scroll down menus which, although very comprehensive, were slower to scroll through and less user friendly. The other major benefit we see in the KANE455 is the CO2 infra red measurement which despite taking 90 seconds to initiate, is guaranteed for 5 years if you have the unit serviced with Kane, so our running costs are reduced significantly by not having to replace chemical cells every 2 years. Jan from Kane spent a highly productive morning with us demonstrating how to get the best from the 455 unit. Although we are all still getting to grips with the many features, the main ones for us are the printing of tightness tests, flue gas results and differential temperatures as we include these with the benchmark on our installations. The small gas sniffer is useful to check gas valve pressure test points instead of LDF and the thermocouple for testing hot and cold supplies makes the kit perfect for commissioning. We only require a flow cup as well as the KANE455 Kit. The magnetic rubber boots which have been a feature of Kane analysers for a long time do protect the unit from damage and are really handy to stick to the side of the boiler. All in all we are very pleased with the 455 Kits and the back up we have had from Kane over the years which has been exemplary. |
