Systema Automotoriz , the Kane distributor in Peru, asked if the KANE455 would be accurate at 4000 metres above sea level. After some testing and software changes Kane modified a standard KANE455 to work at extreme altitudes but with Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, only a mere 1085 metres above sea level, how could we check to see if it works?
Karsten from Sistema-Automotriz in Peru said “About the pictures, the story is very simple. As we weren’t 100% sure if the tester will work over 4000m of altitude, our Technical Services Engineer drove about three and a half hours to the highest railway point in the world. Before leaving he did some tests using a calibration gas which he took with him. The same measurements were done at 4818m above sea level without any big difference. The person you see on the picture is our Technical Service Engineer”. It’s a long way to go to prove that Kane does “what it says on the tin”. |
