Does cold weather affect my analyser?

Yes, it is vital that analysers are kept in a warm, dry place overnight.

If an analyser is left in a vehicle on a cold night the next morning it may display "-----"O2 and not the expected 20.9% O2, (other readings taken by the analyser can also be affected).

This happens because condensation can form on the oxygen sensor's inlet or even on the circuit board. This prevents correct operation and may cause damage to the analyser.

If you experience this condition, it may be possible to rectify the problem yourself. Leave the instrument in a warm place for a few hours with the pump running. This may dry out the oxygen sensor enough to get a reading.

If you still have problems please ring the service department.
