Jonathan Hoole, Managing Director at KANE, has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Brunel University London in recognition of his exceptional achievements in engineering, leadership, and mentorship.

Jonathan’s journey began with a foundation year at Brunel University, which he credits as one of the most formative experiences of his life. He graduated with a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering with Electronic Systems. His commitment to continuous learning took him to the USA, Brazil, and Italy, where he gained valuable career experience and completed a master’s degree in Lean Management.

As a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Jonathan has made a significant impact on both industry and education. A long-standing mentor on Brunel University’s Professional Mentoring Programme, he has been celebrated with the Mentor of the Year award for his dedication to supporting undergraduates, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. His advocacy for paid internships has opened doors for countless aspiring engineers.

Offering advice to graduating students, Jonathan emphasises the power of vision and passion: “Create a vision where you want to be in the future. People who don’t have a vision wander through life. Once you have a dream, life will conspire to make it happen. Create a vision based on what you enjoy; you will always do well if you enjoy what you do.”
